Welcome

Meceola Central Dispatch is a civilian staffed 9-1-1 center that serves 42 public safety agencies in Mecosta and Osceola Counties, Michigan. Located in the west central area of the lower peninsula, the counties include small rural farm communities, several recreational parks, lakes and river areas, with the city of Big Rapids, which includes Ferris State University being the most populated area. With a 2012 population of 80,700 in the two county jurisdiction, (including the student population at Ferris State University), Meceola Central Dispatch handles on average 53,000 calls for service a year.

 

Mission Statement

The mission of Meceola Central Dispatch will be to receive, process, and dispatch, emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance, in a professional and courteous manner, and link the necessary police, fire or ambulance service with the citizens in need of assistance.

Meceola Central Dispatch will also provide the necessary support to all area emergency services, by enhancing their response to calls for assistance by compiling pertinent information, maintaining accurate records and providing secondary support services.

Our goal is to enhance the lives of the people living in, and traveling through our communities by helping to save lives and the property of all the citizens in Mecosta and Osceola Counties.
